Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Tampa, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Florida run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Tampa is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Tampa is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Went to try out on Mandi day! Ordered Paneer 65 Mandi, Karampodi Baby corn and Chilli Garlic Naan for myself and wife via the kiosk! Took a good 30 minutes for the food to arrive! The food was excellent specially the Karampodi Baby Corn and Chilli Garlic Naan, Mandi could have been a little more spicey even though we ordered medium spice! Good first experience if you consider that it’s not a traditional service restaurant and each order takes time as it’s made to order. 👌👍 Will try again soon.

If you’re looking for authentic, homestyle Indian food, you have to check out Jay’s Kitchen! We tried their Thursday buffet, and it was absolutely delicious. Every dish had that fresh, homemade flavor not overly spicy or oily, just comforting and satisfying. I also highly recommend their weekend lunch buffet if you want to enjoy an even bigger variety. The food was flavorful, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the overall experience was excellent. If you’re in the area and craving a homely Indian meal, Jay’s Kitchen is definitely worth a visit

A Total Disappointment!! I drove 45 minutes to this place, I should've walked right out the door as soon as I walked in. The A/C is either broken or they don't care about customer's. The temperature inside was at least +80°F, the poor guy sitting in front of me was profusely sweating. Service is all self serve, the person working the counter TOLD the customers at the table behind me to throw away their plates in the trash can, like they work there and he was expecting them to. Then there's the food. The Dosa was undercooked, too thick. It was mediocre at best, the sambar was really good, but that's were it stops. The Chicken curry was bland and the pieces were very dry inside (that's why most professional chefs prefer dark meat, it doesn't dry out as quick) The goat was cooked excellently, but there was no flavor. I ordered Gongura Goat and it seems like they used pickle instead of real Gongura leaves. Being born in Hyderabad, i have in eclectic palate and know what good Indian food is and sadly this is not it!! Hope you make a lot of changes, I will not make the same mistake twice!! Edit: Since the restaurant wants to comment and lie, I should also mention that no one asked me ho

I had been wanting to try Indian food for a while, so I finally decided to stop by this restaurant for lunch, and it was a great first experience. I ordered the chicken biryani and the double egg fried rice, and both dishes were packed with flavor. The chicken biryani had perfectly cooked, aromatic rice with tender, well-seasoned chicken and a wonderful blend of spices that gave every bite plenty of depth without being overwhelming. The double egg fried rice was equally satisfying, with fluffy rice, generous pieces of egg, and a savory flavor that paired really well with the biryani. The restaurant had a warm, welcoming atmosphere and was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, making it an enjoyable place to sit down and enjoy a meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, and happy to answer a few questions since I was trying Indian food for the first time. They made me feel welcome and offered great recommendations. Overall, everything was delicious, savory, and full of flavor. I'm really glad I chose this place for my first Indian food experience, and I'll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu.

Had a wonderful experience! The chicken mandi was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, tender, and full of rich, authentic flavors. The starters were equally tasty, fresh, and well-seasoned. Every dish was flavorful and definitely worth the price. The ambience was pleasant, clean, and comfortable, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. The service was friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. Overall, it’s great value for money. If you’re looking for tasty, flavorful food with a nice atmosphere and good service, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended!

Food was absolutely delicious and so fresh. Service was very pleasant. The food does take a little longer to come out, but when it does come out, it’s extremely fresh because the owner is making it by hand by order. If you haven’t given this a try, I truly recommend it

Jay’s Kitchen has some really good vegetarian options, and the flavors are generally satisfying. The dishes taste fresh, and you can tell they put effort into seasoning and presentation. A few items could use a bit more consistency, but overall it’s a nice spot when you’re craving homestyle vegetarian food in Tampa. Worth trying if you’re in the area.
